Welcome to our July newsletter. 

If you're the carer of an older person, you need to be aware that the calculation of fees for residential aged care underwent a fundamental change on 1 July 2014. The new rules are complex, and the financial cost of getting them wrong can be significant.

We outline other changes that began with the start of the new financial year, including changes to the Superannuation Guarantee and Medicare Levy that will affect most income earners. 

A recent decision by the Administrative Appeals Tribunal (AAT) means some taxpayers may be able to claim more Fuel Tax Credits (FTC's) - read more in our article, Are you claiming all the Fuel Tax Credits you're entitled to?
