MyGov - ATO linking warning

As many of you may be aware a number of government services have been joined through a new Australian Government website portal called myGov.

A myGov account allows you to link a range of Australian Government services with one username and password, all in one place. When you create a myGov account, you will have access to link the following services:

  • Medicare
  • Australian Taxation Office
  • Centrelink
  • Child Support

We would like for you to please be extra careful when you are registering for your myGov account. We would recommend you do not link the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) service. If you link the ATO service to your account this will cause all future correspondence such as Notice of Assessments to be automatically forwarded to your MyGov inbox with no notification to Goodwin Chivas as your tax agent.

In the coming weeks we will be notifying you of how to unlink this service for clients that have already done so.

Please contact us at Goodwin Chivas & Co if you have any queries or require any assistance.
