The firm was formed on the 1st July 1989 when Garry Goodwin and Wayne Chivas merged their individual practices.
On the 1st July 2000 Nick Zoras was admitted as a partner after being a senior accountant and manager with the firm for over 6½ years.
On the 1st July 2003 Gavin Hilton was admitted as a partner after being a senior accountant and manager with the firm for over 7½ years.
In those 18 years since the merger, the practice has had strong and substantial growth, growing from a practice of 5 people to a team of 28 individuals.
In this period we have been able to strategically position Goodwin Chivas & Co as one of the premier chartered accountancy practices in the Hills District.
GCC is currently the largest practice in the Hills District with an excellent reputation in the area. It has been our emphasis on providing individual attention that has allowed our firm to grow.
Our general approach to dealing with our business clients is quite proactive, in that it’s more like a business partnership relationship where we add value and are involved in the strategic direction of our clients businesses. We call this our business solutions approach.
In saying all this, we do offer the traditional accounting services of tax preparation and general accounting and compliance matters. We normally don’t emphasise this part of our practice as most of our clients are looking for and requiring the value added service.
The strength of our practice is our team. The number of individuals with both different set skills and experience in varying industries ensures that opportunities are maximised and not missed.
